LONDON — The following are the English Premier League standings and latest results after the matches that were completed on Wednesday, February 1.

Despite failing to collect all three points against Liverpool on Tuesday, Chelsea continue to hold a very healthy lead over their EPL rivals.

The Blues, who drew 1-1 at Anfield, hold a nine-point cushion over their closest challengers in the Premier League standings, finishing the 23rd round of matches on 56 points.

Tottenham comes next in the standings with 47 points, but failed to capitalize on Chelsea’s slip up.

The men from London were held scoreless at Sunderland on Tuesday and missed the chance to draw even closer to Antonio Conte’s side.

Third-place Arsenal were beaten 2-1 at home by Watford, as manager Arsene Wenger started his four-match ban for shoving an official a couple of weeks ago.

The defeat also meant the Gunners, who remained on 47pts, failed to get closer to Chelsea in the title race.

Liverpool currently occupy the last Champions League spot, but only on goal difference, as Manchester City found form on Wednesday and hammered West Ham United 4-0 on the road to join the Reds on 46 points in 5th place.

Meanwhile, Manchester United failed to make up any grounds on the teams ahead of them after they were held 0-0 at Old Trafford by relegation-threatened Hull City on Wednesday.

Jose Mourinho’s men remain sixth in the Premier League standings and could find themselves out in the cold again when the Champions League fixtures are announced for next season.

Everton come in at seventh and are just five points behind United on 37, while West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City and Burnley rounded out the Top 10.

Southampton, Watford, Bournemouth, Middlesbrough, Leicester City and Swansea City are the other teams above the bottom three.

Crystal Palace, Hull City and Sunderland are the teams battling relegation after round 23 on Wednesday.
