LONDON (Sporting Alert) — English Premier League results, scores and the table standings, following the games that took place on Saturday (Oct. 4).
With Chelsea not in action until Sunday against Arsenal, defending champions Manchester City moved within two points of the English Premier League leaders with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, with Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero scoring late second half goals to secure all three points.
This means that Manchester City goes to 14 points in the Premier League table standings from seven games, with Chelsea leading with 16pts after six outings.
Liverpool moved up to sixth with a 2-1 win over West Bromwich on 10pts, while Swansea City went fourth, despite playing to a 2-2 draw with Newcastle United.
Hull City beat Crystal Palace 2-0, while Sunderland got the better of Stoke City, 3-1.
Burnley moved off the bottom of the standings with a 2-2 draw with fellow promotional side Leicester City.
