LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Here is the English Premier League table standings heading into round 8 of the 2014-15 season this weekend.

Undefeated Chelsea leads the standings with 19 points from their seven opening games, after picking up six wins and drawing one. The Blues have also scored 21 goals, which is more than any other teams so far this season.

Defending champions Manchester City sits second with 14 points, one more than Southampton, while the new-look Manchester United, on 11pts, the same amount as Swansea City and Tottenham, round out the top four teams in the early goings.

Arsenal, after losing 2-0 at Chelsea before the international break, dropped to eighth with 10 points. Liverpool and Aston Villa, also on 10pts complete the top 10 teams after seven weeks of league football.

At the other end, Newcastle United and new boys Burnley and Queens Park Rangers, are battling in the relegation zone – all three teams are on four points.

QPR has won win in the new season, while Newcastle United and Burnley are still searching for their first victory in the top flight this term.
