LONDON, Sporting Alert – The complete schedule for the English Premier League this coming weekend for Week 26 on Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14.
Saturday’s fixtures get underway early from the Stadium of Light where Sunderland will play host to Manchester United, with the game going off at 7:45 AM ET.
Manchester United are coming off a 1-1 draw at Chelsea last week, a game they were hoping to win, but manager Louis van Gaal still believes his side remains in the running to win the title this year.
The Red Devils are sitting fifth in the league, six points behind fourth-place Manchester City, but are trailing leaders Leicester City by 12 points.
Three points on the road would certainly do Van Gaal’s side a world of good in their chase for a Champions League place.
Sunderland, in the meantime, played to a 2-2 draw with Liverpool in their last English Premier League outing and they too will be hoping to take all three points as they seek to work their way out of the relegation zone.
The Black Cats are sitting second from bottom.
Also on Saturday, Chelsea will play host to Newcastle United.
A late strike from Diego Costa earned the Blues a point with Manchester United as manager Guss Hiddink stayed undefeated in all competition since taking over as interim boss.
Newcastle defeated West Bromwich 1-0 the last time out.
RACE HEATS UP ON SUNDAY
Meanwhile, the race for the title resumes on Sunday with three more games, as leaders Leicester City take on Arsenal in the pick of the weekend games for Week 26.
A win for Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday would see them closing the gap to two points in the English Premier League title race.
However, a victory for the Foxes could see them extending their lead to eight points, which would certainly make them serious crown contenders — a quick reminder, just in case you haven’t thought of them being one already.
At Etihad Stadium, Manchester City will take on second-place Tottenham.
