NEWCASTLE (Sporting Alert) — Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini make 10 changes from the team was beaten 2-1 at Chelsea on Sunday for tonight’s League Cup 4th round clash with Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
Heading that list, as expected his goalkeeper Joe Hart, who makes way for Romanian Costel Pantilimon, who many believe can rival the England international for the No. 1 regular spot, following a host of mistakes.
Hart is on the bench, so too are Samir Nasri, Alvaro Negredo, David Silva, Fernandinho and Martin Demichelis
Jack Rodwell, James Milner, Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetic and Jesus Navas all start for Manchester City, as only Javi Garcia keeps his spot from the team that played in the EPL at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew makes five adjustments to the side that was beaten 2-1 by Sunderland, with Shola Ameobi and Papiss Cissé get starting places.
Cheick Tiote captains the side tonight, with Moussa Sissoko and Yoan Gouffran also starting.
Yohan Cabaye, Hatem Ben Arfa and Loic Remy are amongst the substitutes.
