TORONTO (Sporting Alert) — Scores and results from all the Game 1 games of the NBA first round playoff series on Saturday.
There were wins for the Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
At the Air Canada Centre, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson each scored 24 points and the Brooklyn Nets picked up a 94-87 victory over the Toronto Raptors in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference first round playoff series
Kyle Lowry led the way for the Raptors (48-34) at the Air Canada Centre with 22 points, with Jonas Valanciunas collecting 18 rebounds and 17 points in the defeat for the Raptors.
With his 18 boards, Valanciunas surpassed Keon Clark and set a franchised-record for playoff rebounds. The latter had 16 rebounds against the Detroit Piston in 2002.
Also in the Eastern Conference, the No. 1 seeded Indiana Pacers were stunned 101-93 at home by the Atlanta Hawks, with Jeff Teague, who scored 28 points and Paul Millsap, who added 25, leading the way for the visitors.
In the Western Conference, the Klay Thompson scored 22 points and led the Golden State Warriors to a 109-105 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers at STAPLES Center.
In Oklahoma City, Kevin Durant scored 33 points Russell Westbrook added 23 and the Thunder pulled away in the second half to eased past the Memphis Grizzlies, 100-86.
