(Sporting Alert) — Houston Rockets beat the Indiana Pacers 116-96 in a preseason game at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines on Thursday.
James Harden led the Rockets with 21 points, five rebounds and four steals, while five other players scored in double figures for Houston as well.
Omri Casspi finished with 17 points and five rebounds, Donatas Motiejunas had 16 points and six rebounds and Jeremy Lin added 14 points, seven boards and six assists in the victory.
Chandler Parsons contributed 15 points and Patrick Beverley had 12 points, five rebounds and four assists for Houston, which bounced back from the 116-115 defeat to the New Orleans Pelicans in their opening NBA preseason game.
Paul George paced the Pacers with 17 points and David West added 14 in the defeat.
Orlando Johnson (11), George Hill (10) and Luis Scola, 10 points and eight rebounds also contributed for Indiana, which fell to 0-2 in exhibitions this term.
Dwight Howard had nine point, three rebounds and four turnovers for the Houston Rockets.
Danny Granger, returning to comepetitive action after being out with an injury last season, went 2-of-10 from the floor and finished with nine points.
Thursday’s game was the first NBA type game ever played in the Philippines and 12,885 were at hand to watch the contest.
These two teams meet again on Sunday at Taipei Arena.
