Kompany was doubtful for the game after he limped out of training early on Saturday, but the Belgian has been named in the starting team today.

Starting as well is Aleksandar Kolarov, who is the one change for Manchester City, as he is replaced by Gael Clichy at left-back.

Forward Sergio Aguero is fit-again, but starts today’s game on the bench.

Liverpool are unchanged from the side that defeated West Ham United 2-1 on the road the last time out, which means that the fit-again Daniel Agger will start on the bench.
