LIVERPOOL (Sporting Alert) — Raheem Sterling returns for Liverpool as manager Brendan Rodgers made just one change to his starting line-up for the crucial Barclays Premier League clash against Tottenham at Anfield.
The change sees winger Sterling coming in for midfielder Joe Allen, who is on the bench after starting in midweek in the 2-1 win over Sunderland.
For Tottenham, manager Tim Sherwood also makes just one change as well, as Gylfi Sigurdsson, who netted a late winner against Southampton last Sunday, replaces Mousa Dembele in the midfield.
While the on form Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge lead the attack for Liverpool, Spurs are without forward Emmanuel Adebayor, who as not recovered from a heel injury, so Roberto Soldado leads the line.
Liverpool starting XI: Mignolet, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Flanagan, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge, Suarez. Subs: Jones, Allen, Aspas, Sakho, Lucas, Cissokho, Moses.
Tottenham starting XI: Lloris; Naughton, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Rose; Bentaleb, Sigurdsson; Lennon, Chadli, Eriksen; Soldado. Subs: Friedel, Dawson, Dembele, Sandro, Townsend, Winks, Kane.
