MANCHESTER, Sporting Alert – The possible starting line-ups for the Champions League Group C clash between Manchester City and Barcelona in Group C at Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.
After being thrashed 4-0 in the first game, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will certainly make some adjustments to his side for the battle at home.
Topping that list of changes from the first game is the likely inclusion of leading goalscorer Sergio Aguero, who was shockingly left out in the defeat at Nou Camp.
Guardiola made the move for tactical reasons, as he wanted to heavy up his midfield, but his team made lots of mistakes that were duly punished by Lionel Messi and company.
Guardiola acknowledged that his plan backfired and has taken the blame for the setback.
His comments at his match press conference is a clear indication the Spaniard has plans to make adjustments up front.
“I think we know what we have to do to beat them,” the former Barcelona manager said at his press conference.
“They know us but hopefully our quality up front will make a difference.”
There will also be a change in-goal, as first-choice goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is suspended, following his red card in the defeat to Barca on Matchday 3, so Willy Caballero will get the start.
Barcelona will also be making changes, with captain Andres Iniesta and defender Gerard Piqué both injured.
Defender Jérémy Mathieu, who was a substitute in the last match, was sent off for two bookings so he is suspended for the trip to Manchester.
Fox Soccer 2GO USA and Fox Sports GO, will stream the game with Fox Sports 1 USA providing the television coverage, starting at 3:45pm ET.
