LOS ANGELES, Sporting Alert — Manchester United have announced that there is an agreed deal with Everton to sign Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window.
Sky Sports and several British media outlets broke the news on Thursday and it now seems that Manchester United are set to land Belgium striker for a fee of £75 million.
It is believed Lukaku, who has already agreed to personal terms with the club, will undergo a medical exam in Los Angeles, in the U.S. on Saturday afternoon ahead of completing his move to Old Trafford.
“Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has agreed a fee with Everton for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku,” the club said in a short statement on www.manutd.com.
“The transfer is subject to a medical and personal terms.”
The 24-year-old has been training with Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba at UCLA in California on Thursday and could link up with the rest of the squad for the first preseason session in Los Angeles, on Monday.
The rest of the Red Devils squad will arrive in the United States on Sunday.
Sky Sports revealed that Chelsea made a late attempt to hijack the move for Lukaku, but it seems as though the defending English Premier League champions have missed out on their No. 1 target this summer.
