NBA results, recap on Dec. 31; Nets win 11th in a row

MIAMI, FL —— Catch up on all the latest NBA results from Dec. 31 with our quick recap. The Brooklyn Nets extended their winning streak to 11 games with a victory, while the Dallas Mavericks picked up their sixth straight win. Get all the scores, highlights and top plays from the games.

The latest NBA results on New Year’s Eve on Saturday, with several close and exciting games on the schedule, while we also saw a few blowout wins. Among the winners were the red-hot Brooklyn Nets, Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, and Philadelphia 76ers.

Brooklyne Nets win 11th in a row!

The Brooklyn Nets, the NBA’s hottest team at the moment, had a strong outing, defeating the Charlotte Hornets 123-106 to win 11 straight games. The Nets were led by Kyrie Irving, who scored 18 of his 28 total points in the first half, and Kevin Durant added 23 points. Royce O’Neale and Nic Claxton counted for 14 points apiece for Brooklyn.

Meanwhile, the Hornets were led by LaMelo Ball, who had 23 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds. Mason Plumlee added 22 points. With the defeat on Saturday, the Hornets dropped to 10-27.

The Indiana Pacers faced off against the Los Angeles Clippers. The game was close between the two teams with just under two minutes remaining –with the score at 123-121 in favor of the Clippers. In the end, the Pacers ultimately came out on top with a 131-130.

Myles Turner, playing one of the best games offensively this season, paced Indiana with 34 points on 11 of 17 shooting from the field. Tyrese Haliburton added 24 points and 10 assists for the Pacers (20-17).

Paul George finished with a season-high 45 points on 15 of 25 shooting with seven 3-pointers, to go with nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the loss for the Clippers (21-17), who dropped two straight. Kawhi Leonard delivered 24 points, seven assists, and five rebounds in the defeat.

Another 50-point performance by Luka Doncic

Meanwhile, the Mavericks Dallas overcame the San Antonio Spurs 126-125, thanks to a big night from Luka Doncic, who capped off the year with another fantastic performance. Doncic, who had performances of 60 and 50 points in December, ended a historic five-game run with 51 points, nine assists, and six rebounds.

Keldon Johnson scored 30 points for San Antonio in the loss, Jeremy Sochan added 20, and Jakob Poeltl finished with a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds.
