Week 17 NFL scores today; winners & losers

KANSAS CITY —— The Kansas City Chiefs, despite a lethargic day, did enough to defeat the Denver Broncos in a stimulating 27-24 matchup at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Check out the full BOX SCORE.

Patrick Mahomes dominates in win for Kansas City

The Chiefs (13-3) dominated on offense, totaling 374 yards, with quarterback Patrick Mahomes leading the way. Mahomes completed 29 of 42 passes for 328 yards and three touchdowns, with one interception.

The Broncos (4-12) put up a strong fight, totaling 307 yards of offense.

Quarterback Russell Wilson had a solid outing, completing 26 of 38 passes for 222 yards and one touchdown, with one interception. Wilson also had two rushing touchdowns. Wide receiver Albert Okwuegbunam had a catch for a touchdown.

The Chiefs’ defense played a key role in the victory, with Nick Bolton leading the way with 4 solo tackles. Trent McDuffie, Frank Clark, and Khalen Saunders each recorded a sack. Both teams lost one fumble in the game.

Sunday’s defeat saw Denver falling to 1-8 away this season with their lone win coming at the Wembley Stadium in London versus the Jacksonville Jaguars on October 30.

The Chiefs, who have already clinched the AFC WEST division, will look to prolong their four-game winning streak when they take on the Las Vegas Raiders to close out the regular season in Week 18 at the Allegiant Stadium.

The Broncos, who are already eliminated from the NFL playoffs, will aim to bounce back and secure a victory in their next game when they close out the campaign at Empower Field at Mile High against Los Angeles Chargers.

Meanwhile, in other NFL scores today in Week 17, the New Orleans Saints beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 20-10, New England handed Miami another defeat to dent the Dolphins’ playoff hopes after the Patriots won 23-21 today, while Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers overcame a deficit to secure to collect a 30-24 win over the Carolina Panthers and secured their second straight NFC South championship.
