Two-time defending champions Miami Heat (14-5, 5-3 away) shot a season-low 41.6 percent from the field and suffered their second successive defeat, following a 107-87 loss to the Chicago Bulls. Carlos Boozer finished with 27 points and nine rebounds and was well supported by Luol Deng, 20pts and Joakim Noah, 17pts and 15 rebounds in the victory.
LeBron James led Miami with 21 points, while Michael Beasley added 15 points and seven rebounds in the defeat.
Back-to-back defeats now sees the Heat falling three games behind the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference NBA standings, but continues to lead the Southeast Division.
In other NBA scores on Thursday night, the New York Knicks (4-13, 3-6 away) snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 113-83 victory over the struggling Brooklyn Nets (5-14, 2-6 home) which dropped its sixth game at home this season.
Carmelo Anthony finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, Iman Shumpert added 17 points and Andrea Bargnani chipped in with 16 in the victory.
New York is now 1-9 from the last 10 games and sits second from bottom in the Eastern Conference standings.
Center Brook Lopez was the main contributor for the Brooklyn Nets with 24 points and nine boards.
Elsewhere on the night, the Los Angeles Clippers (13-7, 5-5 away) scored a 101-81 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies (9-9, 4-6 home).
The win saw Clippers coach Doc Rivers sealing his 600th victory as a head coach, while his team moved up to fourth in the Western Conference standings.
