NBA standings, scores and record on March 10

Leading the way on the night were the Los Angeles Clippers (45-20), which secured a 112-105 win over the Phoenix Suns (36-27).

Power forward Blake Griffin, who went 14 of 16 overall from the field, scored 22 of his 37 points in the first quarter, while pulling down six rebounds in the win for the LA Clippers.

Darren Collison, starting again at shooting guard finished with 20 points, while Chris Paul had 17 points, 11 assists and five rebounds, as the Clippers won its eight-game in a row.

“I didn’t even realize he (Griffin) had 22 in the first quarter until halftime,” said Paul. “I felt like the biggest dummy, because he probably should have gotten the ball even more than he did.

“I know he gets off to good starts and stuff, but tonight it was crazy.”

The win now sees the LA Clippers 2 ½ games behind the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA standings in the Western Conference.

Goran Dragic led the way for the Phoenix Suns with 23 points, while Gerald Green and Markieff Morris each scored 16 points and P.J. Tucker had a double-double of 14 points and 10 boards in the defeat.

Winning on the night also were the Miami Heat, New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets.
