NCAA College Basketball Top 10 Week 1 Schedule, TV Channels

MIAMI, FL, Sporting Alert – The NCAA college basketball 2017-18 season tips-off this week and we take a look at the Top 10 teams’ openers and their respective opponents.

No. 1 Duke, which collected 33 of the first-place votes from the media panel recently, will play two games in Week 1.

The Blue Devils get their season underway on Friday vs. Elon at Cameron Indoor Stadium before returning the following day to host Utah Valley at the same venue.

Meanwhile, defending national champion North Carolina starts the defense of its title at home to Northern Iowa on Friday night.

The Tar Heels are ranked No. 9 in the recently released AP Top 25 Preseason poll.

No. 2 Michigan State, which received 13 top votes in the preseason poll, will also open its season on Friday against North Florida at Breslin Center in East Lansing.

There are two games on the schedule as well for the third-ranked Arizona, which hosts Northern Arizona on Nov 10 and UMBC two days later.

The Wildcats picked up 18 first-place votes in the AP Top 25 preseason rankings and have a squad that could challenge this season.

Fourth-ranked Kansas, which received the final first-place vote in the preseason poll, will play one game in Week 1, with the Jayhawks hosting Tennessee State on Friday.

No. 5 Kentucky plays Utah Valley in its season opener on Friday inside Rupp Arena and stays at the venue to welcome Vermont on Sunday.

Elsewhere on Friday night, sixth-ranked Villanova gets its campaign underway at home against Columbia, while No. 7 Wichita State entertains UMKC and No. 10 USC tips-off against CS Fullerton.

The only AP Top 25 team inactive in Week 1 is No. 8 Florida.

The Gators tip-off their campaign next Monday, Nov. 13 at home against Gardner-Webb.
