NEWCASTLE, Sporting Alert – The starting line-ups and team news for the English Premier League game between Newcastle United and Tottenham at St James’ Park.

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez hands Premier League debutantes to two players, as he attempts to make a winning return to the top flight.

Javier Manquillo and Florian Lejeune are both in the starting team for the home side this morning, while Christian Atsu is also named in the team, following his permanent move from Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

Astu joins Dwight Gayle and Ayoze Perez in the starting XI to lead the attack for The Magpies

Captain Jonjo Shelvey, Ciaran Clark, Isaac Hayden and Matt Ritchie are also in the opening XI.

Jacob Murphy and Mikel Merino are named among the substitutes on the bench, but could make their debuts for Newcastle.

Meanwhile, Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier are among the starters for Tottenham, but as expected, there is a change at one of the full-back

Kyle Walker-Peters replaces the departing Kyle Walker at right-back for Spurs, while Victor Wanyama is only on the bench.

Heung-Min Son, Vincent Janssen, Kevin Wimmer and Harry Winks are also substitutes.

Let’s see how today’s game will go for Newcastle, as manager Benitez still thinks his team is lacking some quality players to survive in the Premier League.

Benitez recalled: “When Newcastle went down last time, they had some good players but they did not have a team. I think this season, they do have a team.

“I think that the fans were so pleased to see the team going back to the Premier League. They were amazing last year supporting the team and they will be the same this year. We have a massive city behind the club.

“It will be a tough test against Tottenham, you are talking about one of the best teams in the division.

“We have an idea how to attack and how to defend, but football is football.”
