Premier League scores, standings and Highlights – Dec. 28

LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Manchester City moved to the top the Premier League standings with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, while Manchester United secured a similar victory at Norwich.

Edin Dzeko netted a 66th minute winner for Man City to over take Arsenal in the pole position with 41 points, two more than the Gunners, who will face Newcastle United on Sunday.

At Carrow Road, substitute Danny Welbeck netted the only goal for Manchester United to beat Norwich City 1-0 as well, as David Moyes’ men moved to sixth with 34 points.

But the biggest winners on the day were Hull City, who hammered Fulham 6-0.

All six goals came in the second half, with Robert Koren scoring twice and Ahmed El-Mohamamdy, George Boyd, Tom Huddlestone and Matt Fryatt all getting on the scoresheet as well.

There were also six goals at Boleyn Ground, with West Ham United and West Brom ending 3-3.

Nicolas Anelka scored a brace for West Brom.

In other Premier League results, Aston Villa and Swansea finished 1-1 and Sunderland secured a late-late 2-2 draw at Cardiff City.
