(Sporting Alert) — QPR start their quest for a place back into the English Premier League with a game against Sheffield Wednesday at Loftus Road Stadium.
Harry Redknapp’s side is one of the favourites to win promotion this season and former Tottenham boss has named a very strong starting XI for the opening league game, but summer signing Charlie Austin, who has been tipped for big things this term, only starts on the bench.
Top striker Loic Remy, who has been linked with a move away, however, is not in the team at all, despite being available to play.
Controversial midfielder Joey Barton starts in the middle, while summer recruits Danny Simpson and Karl Henry gets debuts.
Fellow new signing Richard Dunne is on a very strong bench, which also includes Jermaine Jenas and Shaun Wright-Phillips
Bobby Zamora, Andrew Johnson and Junior Hoilett leads the attack.
Former Premier League keeper Chris Kirkland is amongst the starters for Sheffield Wednesday.
