(SportingAlert) — The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly willing to offer No. 1 pick Andrew Wiggins in their push to do a trade for Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love.
It is understood that Cavs new head coach David Blatt is an admirer of Wiggins and even stated that the club would like to keep the high-profiled rookie.
However, according to ESPN, league sources are confirming that serious advanced talks are ongoing between player’s representatives, the Timberwolves and the Cavaliers, about the possibilities of doing a trade involving Love and Wiggins, who is currently playing NBA Summer League ball with Cleveland.
It is believed that three-time All-Star forward Love, has informed Minnesota that he will not re-sign with them after his current deal runs out following next season, and this has prompted the Timberwolves to start looking for a good deal.
Reports from several media outlets are also claiming that Love would welcome the chance to play alongside LeBron James and Kyrie Irving at Cleveland as he feels this would give him the opportunity to push for titles.
Meanwhile, both Irving and Cleveland Cavaliers’ owner Dan Gilbert are inside the Thomas And Mack Center in Las Vegas, watching Wiggins and team in action against the Houston Rockets in the summer league.
