(Sporting Alert) — A review of some of the major pre-season friendly match which took place on Saturday, including Bayern Munich win and David Moyes’ defeat in his first game as Manchester United’s manager against Singha All Stars.
In Bangkok, Moyes’ tenure as Manchester United manager began in defeat as Teeratep Winothai netted the only goal for Singha All Stars 1-0 win over the English Premier League champions.
Also on Saturday, European champions Bayern Munich thrashed Sonnenhof Großaspach 6-0 in another friendly game, with Xherdan Shaqiri netting twice and Arjen Robben, Franck Ribéry, David Alaba and Julian Green all scoring a goal each.
Another German outfit registering a victory on Saturday was Borussia Dortmund, who beat Bursaspor 4-1, with top striker Robert Lewandowski getting on the scoresheet.
Liverpool also had a pretty good run out in their game with Preston North End, following a 4-0 win at Deepdale.
The win saw Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling both getting on the scoresheet, while debuts were handed to Simon Mignolet and Kolo Toure. As well as fellow new arrivals Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas.
