Rockets, Bulls Get Wins: NBA Preseason Scores, Round-up – Oct. 4

MIAMI, FL, Sporting Alert — Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls were among the teams picking up wins in the NBA preseason fixtures on Tuesday night (3). Latest NBA preseason scores and results.

At BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla., Houston Rockets made 24 three-pointers and shot 43.6-percent from that range in a 104-97 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Thunder handed debuts to Carmelo Anthony and Paul George, but played without reigning MVP Russell Westbrook, who was held out with a knee problem.

For Houston, Eric Gordon tallied 21 points and connected on 6-of-8 shots from 3-pointers, while Trevor Ariza scored 18 points and drilled five 3-pointers.

James Harden had 16 points, 10 assists, five rebounds, three steals and two blocks in his 29 minutes and new point guard Chris Paul added 11 points, seven assists, two rebounds and two steals in 24 minutes for the Rockets.

Anthony led the Thunder with 19 points and George finished with 15.

Oklahoma starting center Steven Adams left the contest after suffering a back injury, but head coach Billy Donovan doesn’t think the injury is “too severe or serious.”

At the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, eight players scored in double figures to help the Chicago Bulls beat the Pelicans 113-109.

Cristiano Felicio scored 15 points, Nikola Mirotic added 14 points and nine rebounds and Justin Holiday recorded 14 points for the Bulls.

Robin Lopez (12), Denzel Valentine (12), Kris Dunn (11) and Jerian Grant, 11 points and nine assists also reached double digits for Chicago, which shot 51.2 percent from the floor.

Anthony Davis had 24 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks and DeMarcus Cousins finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals for the Pelicans.

Point guard Rajon Rondo dished out eight assists with two steals, three rebounds and five points for New Orleans.

Elsewhere in the NBA preseason on Tuesday night, Blake Griffin had 17 points, DeAndre Jordan finished with 15 points and eight rebounds and the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Toronto Raptors 98-84.

The game was again played at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, HI, saw Los Angeles turning the tables around after losing to Toronto in their first preseason meeting a couple nights ago.

DeMar DeRozan paced the Raptors with 15 points.

In the Moda Center in Portland, Ore., the Phoenix Suns edged the Portland Trail Blazers 114-112, while D’Angelo Russell scored 19 points and the Brooklyn Nets topped the New York Knicks 115-107.
