LIVERPOOL (Sporting Alert) — Romelu Lukaku has had a dream home debut start for Everton, who leads Newcastle United 3-0 after the opening 45 minutes of their English Premier League game at Goodison Park.
Lukaku, on loan from Chelsea, scored in the fifth and 37th minutes of play, while Ross Barkley added a third for Everton in the 25th minute.
The Belgian powerhouse striker Lukaku was hoping to cement his place in Jose Mourinho’s side for this season after impressing on loan at West Bromwich last year.
However, he was once again sent out to play elsewhere and the 20-year-old has certainly picked up from where he left off last season.
He opened the scoring with a nice finish when he guided home a Kevin Mirallas low cross from the right hand side.
Lukaku then set Barkley up for his team’s second in the 25th minute with a well timed pass that sliced the Newcastle defense.
Alan Pardew’s men paid again for some sloppy defending as they failed to take care of a long Tim Howard clearance, which resulted in an easy tap home for Lukaku.
