SAN ANTONIO, Sporting Alert – San Antonio Spurs scored 43 points in the first quarter against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of their Western Conference semi-final on Saturday night.
They lead 43-20 after the opening 12-minutes
The opening quarter total was the highest in the playoffs in franchise history for any quarter for the Spurs, who also set a record for most points scored in a quarter during the postseason.
The Spurs started the game impressively at the AT&T Center, shooting 82 percent from the floor after making 18 of the 22 attempts.
LaMarcus Aldridge, who played all 12 minutes of the first quarter, paced the home side in the opening stanza with 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting to go with three rebounds.
Kawhi Leonard made all six of his shots from the field for 12 points, while Danny Green has found his shooting touch in this game, making both of his attempts from long-range for six points.
Kevin Durant shot 3-of-9 from the floor to lead OKC with seven points in the first quarter and Serge Ibaka has six.
Russell Westbrook was 0-of-5 for Oklahoma City, which was 8-of-28 from the field overall as a team in the quarter.
