SAN ANTONIO (Sporting Alert) — San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker believes that forward Serge Ibaka will play at some part during the Western Conference finals for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Spurs v Thunder Game 1 Live on TNT Overtime at 9 p.m. ET and TNT Network.
Ibaka has been ruled out for the rest of the playoffs with a calf strain that he picked up during the last series against Los Angeles Clipper, but Parker, who at the weekend said that he would play in Monday night’s Game 1 contest, isn’t convinced the shot-blocking forward’s season is completely over.
“I don’t really believe it,” said Parker in the Spurs Nation. “I’ll believe when I see (Monday) he is not on the court.
“It’s hard to believe. We’ll see.”
Parker was forced to leave Game 5 of their Western Conference semi-finals against the Portland Trail Blazers after he sustained a left hamstring strain last week, but confirmed that he is good to go.
“It (the injury) feels better,” Parker said.
