AUSTIN, Tex. (Sporting Alert, Box Score) — Anthony Brown scored 25 points and Chasson Randle finished with 22 and Stanford upset No. 9 Texas 74-71 in overtime at Frank Erwin Center, in Austin, on Tuesday night.
Both teams ended regulation time locked at 64-64, before the Cardinal (7-3) outscored the Longhorns (10-2), 10-7 in overtime to seal the impressive road win.
Brown went 9 for 17 from the field and hit all four of his three-point attempts, with Randle also going 9 for 17 on the night.
Reid Travis grabbed 14 rebounds and scored seven points for Stanford, who are 1-1 against top 25 teams this season.
Javan Felix scored 19 points off the bench to lead Texas, while Jonathan Holmes and Kendal Yancy each collecting 14 points.
Myles Turner had nine points and eight rebounds in the defeat for the Longhorns, which missed two three point attempts in the last 0:10 of overtime.
Felix made a jumper to give Texas a 71-70 lead with 1:29 remaining in overtime, before Brown and Randle each made buckets to give the Cardinal the three point win.
Stanford ended the game shooting 43.3 percent from the floor and 44.4percent from behind the arc. They were winning their first road game against top 10 teams since 2008.
Texas, in the meantime, who had a three game winning streak snapped, was 44.6 percent from the field and knocked down 15-of-17 from the free throw line in the first home defeat of the season.
The Longhorns will next play hosts to Rice on Monday, with the Cardinal, who have won three of the last four, entertaining Arkansas-Pine Bluff on the same day.
