NEW YORK (Sporting Alert) — Top 25 college basketball scores and records after the games that took place in the NCAA DI league on Saturday.
There were victories on the day for No. 2 Arizona, No. 4 Syracuse, as well as the fifth and the seventh Ohio State and Louisville, respectively.
However, No. 6 Kansas (6-2) were stunned 75-72 at the unranked Colorado (9-1).
Arizona (9-0), backed by many as a team that could very well take over the No. 1 slot at some point this season in the AP poll, edged UNLV (3-4) 63-58, with four players, including T.J. McConnell and Brandon Ashley, who both scored 13 points, reaching double digits for the Wildcats.
Syracuse (9-0) kept up its undefeated start to the season as well with an easy 93-65 victory over Binghamton (2-7) for their ninth win of the campaign. Forward C.J. Fair scored 19 points and had four steals, while Trevor Cooney scored 17 points and DaJuan Coleman collected a double-double of 13 points and 10 boards for the Orange.
Defending champions and No. 7 Louisville (8-1) sealed a 113-74 victory over LA Lafayette (6-3) with Montrezl Harrell leading the way with 20 points and eight rebounds.
Shawn Long shot 11 of 19 from the field to finish with a game high 25 points for Louisiana-Lafayette in a losing effort.
In other college basketball scores on Saturday, Colorado (9-1) continued its impressive start to the season with a 75-72 win over No. 6 Kansas (6-2) for the second victory over top 25 opponents this season, following the term opener victory over the then-No. 25 Baylor Bears.
The win was also the Buffaloes’ eight in a row as they continue to sit atop of the Pac-12 Conference.
No. 8 Wisconsin (10-0) beat Marquette (5-4) 70-64 to claim their tenth win of the early season, while (11) Wichita State (9-0) thrashed Oral Roberts (5-4) 71-58, while (14) Villanova (9-0) 98, beat Saint Joseph’s (4-4) 68.
Another college basketball top 25 team that fell Saturday was No. 18 UCLA (8-1), who suffered an 80- 71 defeat to Missouri (9-0).
