LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Manchester City will go top of the English Premier League standings with a win over Tottenham when the pair meet at White Hart Lane on Wednesday.
Manchester City (50 pts) are just two points behind leaders Arsenal, who failed to beat Southampton on Tuesday night, and a win for Manuel Pellegrini side will see them go top by a point.
In team news, Pellegrini says midfielders James Milner and Javi Garcia are both ruled out of the contest, but expects playmaker David Silva to be available after the Spanish international was rested last weekend with a minor hamstring problem.
On form forward Alvaro Negredo is expected to be available after a shoulder injury.
For Tim Sherwood and Tottenham, defenders Jan Vertonghen and Younes Kaboul and midfielder Sandro are back in training and could play some part in the contest.
However, wingers Andros Townsend and Erik Lamela will miss the clash as they continue to recover from injuries.
