Tonight’s Buffali Bills game has been postponded
On Monday night, the NFL game between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals was suspended after Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field. The incident occurred during the game when Hamlin collided with Bengals receiver Tee Higgins. After getting to his feet, Hamlin adjusted his face mask with his right hand before falling backward and lying motionless. Players on the field were screaming for help as medical personnel rushed to his side and administered CPR before he was taken away in an ambulance.
THE NFL RELEASED A STATMENT
“Tonight’s Buffalo Bills-Cincinnati Bengals game has been postponed after Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin collapsed, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced,” an NFL statement read. “Hamlin received immediate medical attention on the field by team and independent medical staff and local paramedics. He was then transported to a local hospital where he is in critical condition.
“Our thoughts are with Damar and the Buffalo Bills. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
“The NFL has been in constant communication with the NFL Players Association which is in agreement with postponing the game.”
As a result of the incident, the NFL has suspended play for the evening and is working on a possible date to resume the game. However, at this time, the focus remains on Hamlin’s health and well-being. The Buffalo sideline was filled with emotion as several of Hamlin’s teammates were visibly shaken by the incident.
Hamlin, who was a 6th-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, is just 24 years old. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family during this difficult time.
