(Sporting Alert) — Jamaica schools are set to do their thing, and light-up the 119th Penn Relays edition, with the three day competition set to go off on Thursday.

Amongst the teams in action on Thursday is Edwin Allen High School, who are strong title favourites to win the girls’ 4x100m, 4x400m and 4x800m relay events.
Edwin Allen were third in the 4×100, but led a Jamaican 1-2-3 finish in the 4x400m. They also picked up the gold medal in the 4x800m with a dominating.
However, rivals Holmwood Technical, Vere Technical, Manchester High and St Jago – some of the premier programs from Jamaica, along with defending 4x100m relay champion Long Beach Poly – are all set to do battle as well.
The running events at the 2013 Penn Relays will go off at 10 am, starting with the college women’s 400m hurdles, which will be followed by the high school girls’ race.
The 4x800m heats are the first set of relay events on the schedule, with the 4x100m and 4x400m also down to take place on Thursday’s busy day of competition.
