PORTO ALEGRE (SportingAlert) — The on form Thomas Mueller leads Germany attack in today’s World Cup round of 16 clash with Algeria at Estádio Beira-Rio, in Porto Alegre.

Mueller has so far netted four goals in three games for Germany at this World Cup and the Bayern Munich attacker will be hoping to add to that tally as the European giants hunt a quarter-finals place.

Returning to the starting lineup is Mario Gotze, who was rested against USA in the last group stage game last week. He will join Mueller and Mesut Ozil as the main attacking threat. Bastian Schweinsteiger, who played his first game of the tournament against the United States, keeps his place in the starting lineup, Toni Kroos also starting the game.

Defender Shkodran Mustafi comes in to replace Mats Hummels, who is out with a virus.

In the meantime, Islam Slimani, who has scored three goals thus far in the this World Cup, leads the attack for Algeria, who are seeking to break the hearts of the Germans with an upset win.

The winner of this game plays France in quarter-final.
