(Sporting Alert) — Max Meyer, Shkodran Mustafi, Leon Goretzka and Kevin Volland have all been handed starting places by Germany’s head coach Joachim Low in tonight’s international football friendly game against Poland in Mainz.

Low, who is using the friendly game as part of his processor for picking his final roster for the 2014 Fifa World Cup finals, is without several key players who are still with their respective clubs.
This gives the several players pushing for places in squad a chance to show the boss what they can do, with Volland determined to earn a place in the striker’s option.
Ron-Robert Zieler will start in goal, as Manuel Neuer is still with Bayern Munich, while Julian Draxler starts as well and is expected to be one of the main attacking treats for Germany. The Schalke star captains the Germans tonight.
Despite injury concerns, Lars Bender has been named on the bench, while forward André Hahn and defender Christian Günter will be hoping to get some time on the pitch as the game progresses.
Meanwhile, Southampton’s goalkeeper Artur Boruc is amongst the starter’s tonight for Poland who are without leading striker Robert Lewandowski, who is with Borussia Dortmund for the German Cup finals this weekend.
Just like Germany, Poland, is also using this game to focus on youths as they build for the future.
