MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Costel Pantilimon remains starting goalkeeper for Manchester City in today’s English Premier League clash with Tottenham at Etihad Stadium, Joe Hart staying on the bench.
Hart was impressive for England against Germany in the 1-0 defeat in the midweek, but Pantilimon keeps his place.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini has made five changes from the team which lost 1-0 at Sunderland last time out, with Pablo Zabaleta, Matija Nastasic, Gael Clichy Jesus Navas and Fernandinho all coming back.
Micah Richards, Joleon Lescott, Aleksandar Kolarov, James Milner and Javi Garcia all make way in the starting team.
Tottenham, meanwhile made six changes from the team that was beaten 1-0 at home to Newcastle United in the last outing, with French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris returning between the sticks.
Erik Lamela makes his first Premier League start, while forward Emmanuel Adebayor has been named to the bench against his former side. Starting on the bench as well is England winger Andros Townsend and Gylfi Sigurdsson, but Roberto Soldado keeps his place in leading the attack, with Jermain Defoe on the bench.
Younes Kaboul, Sandro, Aaron Lennon and Lewis Holtby all start today as well.
