LIVERPOOL (Sporting Alert) — Liverpool will be looking to bounce back from their shocking defeat to Hull City the last time out when they play host to Norwich City in the English Premier League at Anfield on Wednesday.
Premier League: Liverpool vs. Norwich City @ 2:45 PM ET, Dec. 4 |
The Reds were stunned 3-1 over the weekend, a result which saw them losing grounds on leaders Arsenal, and manager Brendan Rodgers has called on his team to react immediately as they look to get their campaign back on the road.
With striker Daniel Sturridge, who is expected to be out for up to eight weeks missing because of an ankle injury, Rodgers is set to recall playmaker Philippe Coutinho, who recovered from an ankle problem, but started on the bench in Sunday’s game at Hull.
Victor Moses and Raheem Sterling both started in that fixture, but could make way, as Iago Aspas is all set for a return.
Norwich City picked up a vital 1 – 0 win over Crystal Palace at home over the weekend to again ease some of the pressure off manager Chris Hughton, who will be hoping to come away with a similar result on the road.
Still missing for Norwich because of injuries are Robert Snodgrass (knee), Ricky Van Wolfswinkel (ankle), defender Elliot Bennett (knee), Alexander Tettey (ankle), Anthony Pilkington (hamstring) and Mark Bunn (ankle).
