Demps caught the kickoff from Ryan Succop and outpaced the entire Redskins travelers, before side-stepping one last challenge close to the end zone, prior to scoring.
His score adds to Dexter Mccluster’s 74 yard punt return for a touchdown.
Jamaal Charles has two touchdowns and Dwayne Bowe scored another as the Chiefs head into the break with their commanding lead.
Kansas City scored 21 of its 38 points in the second quarter, as the Redskins at times looked sloppy with their passing, tackling and covering.
Washington (3-9) is hoping to avoid a fifth consecutive defeat, while the Chiefs are looking to snap a three game losing streak.
