(Sporting Alert) — Striker Stephan El Shaarawy is on the bench for AC Milan for today’s Italian Serie A clash against Catania as they go in search of valuable points.
El Shaarawy had been out since the start of September after he suffered an injury to his foot in training, but is back to full training and was this week cleared to feature again.
His return comes at a good time with AC Milan struggling with injuries, which has played a massive part in them currently sitting at 14th in the league standings.
While El Shaarawy starts on the bench, Mario Balotelli will continue to lead the attack against Catania, with Kaka and Valter Birsa supporting the Italian striker.
Head coach Massimiliano Allegri is without several players due to injury with the likes of Robinho, Christian Abbiati, Mattia De Sciglio, Philippe Mexes, Ignazio Abate, Cristian Zaccardo and Marco Amelia all out.
Meanwhile, former AC Milan player Maxi Lopez leads the attacking line for Catania.
