(Sporting Alert) — Aly Cissokho starts on the bench for Liverpool in tonight’s Barclays Premier League encounter with Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers named an unchanged team for the clash, which means that new signing Cissokho will have to wait to make his debut, but was included among the substitutes.
Daniel Sturridge, who needed the winner in the season opener leads the attack again, with Luis Suarez still out suspended.
Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, the hero last week in the win over Stoke City could have another busy night and central defenders Kolo Toure and Danny Agger are also expected to be on alert, with striker Christian Benteke bang on form already in the early games of the season for Aston Villa.
Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann both start as well for the hosts, who after beating Arsenal 3-1 in the season opener, suffered a 2-1 midweek defeat to Chelsea.
The game also sees Jores Okore and Leandro Bacuna coming in for Paul Lambert’s side as they seek to bounce back.
