MANCHESTER — Early team news ahead of the English Premier League clash between runaway leaders Manchester City and Leicester City at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Riyad Mahrez, who went missing from training after failing to force through a transfer move to the Citizens on Deadline Day, rejoined the squad on Friday and reportedly traveled with the Foxes for the game.

However, despite making himself available to play, the winger is expected to miss his third successive match after he also missed games against Everton and Swansea.

Meanwhile, forward Shinji Okazaki will miss the game with a knee injury that could sideline him for up to three weeks.

Form Manchester City, center-back John Stones is available again after the England international missed City’s last two games due to illness and a minor knee injury.

However, left-backs Benjamin Mendy and Fabian Delph (both knee) playmaker David Silva (hip), winger Leroy Sane (ankle), striker Gabriel Jesus (knee) are still out.

Manchester City are 13 points ahead of second place Manchester United in the English Premier League standings.

Leicester City are sitting eighth on 35 points, but could up to seventh and replace Burnley of The Clarets fail to beat Swansea City in their game.

(Sporting Alert) — Here are the listed player who will be inactive for tonight’s highlighted NFL clash between the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Linebacker Bjoern Werner, who did not take part in practice this week because of a foot problem, heads the list of players inactive for the Indianapolis Colts.

Tight end Dominique Jones, wide receiver David Reed, and guard Khaled Holmes are also out of the contest as the Colts look to stop the Broncos’ undefeated run this season.

Meanwhile, for Denver, linebacker Wesley Woodyard, who was limited in practice this week due to a neck problem and was listed as questionable will not feature.

Tackle Orlando Franklin, with an ankle injury is also listed as inactive.

This game will see Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning returns to Indianapolis to face his former team on Sunday Night Football.

NEWCASTLE (Sporting Alert) — Liverpool will be without Iago Aspas for this weekend’s English Premier League game against Newcastle at St James’ Park, but defenders Glen Johnson and Aly Cissokho are both back in the squad after recovering from injuries.

In fact, the club confirmed that Aspas will be sidelined until December, after the Spanish forward suffered a torn thigh muscle in training on Thursday.

But Johnson and Cissokho have both come through lengthy lay-offs and are available for the clash as Liverpool looks to go atop of the EPL table standings, with fellow leaders Arsenal scheduled to kick-off after their game is over.

Strikers Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez are both expected to start again in the attack.

England forward Sturridge has so far scored six goals for the Reds.

For Newcastle, captain and leading defender Fabricio Coloccini misses out because of a groin injury, while fellow Argentinian and midfielder Jonas Gutierrez. Coloccini has been ruled out because of personal reasons.

Loic Remy has netted five times already for Newcastle United.

(Sporting Alert) — Watch Chelsea take on Norwich City in the English Premier League at Carrow Road in one of four games on the schedule for Sunday.

Jose Mourinho’s men will look to keep tabs on the front runners with a win, with the game set to Kickoff at 8:30 am ET.

TEAM NEWS: CHELSEA
The Blues will be without striker Fernando Torres, who has been ruled out for three weeks with a knee injury, while attacking playmaker Eden Hazard remains doubtful for the match with an ankle problem. This could see Samuel Eto’o returning to the starting XI, while Demba Ba could see some minutes in the away fixture.

Kevin de Bruyne, who was not selected for the Champions League win at Steaua Bucharest in midweek is named in the traveling squad this time, as Chelsea look for their first Premier League away win this season.

TEAM NEWS: NORWICH CITY
Norwich manager Chris Hughton be hoping striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who has been limited in practice this week with a toe problem, will be fit for the game. Defender Sebastien Bassong remains doubtful with a hamstring injury, but fellow defender Javier Garrido seems to have recovered from a thigh injury and is available.

Midfielder Nathan Redmond is also back from an ankle problem and is set to feature in the contest.

The live stream will be on start at 8 am.

LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Fernando Torres has kept his place in the starting line for Chelsea in today’s English Premier League London derby clash at Tottenham after impressing the manager in midweek.

Torres got the nod ahead of summer recruit Samuel Eto’o, who has been starting in the league since his move in the closing part of the transfer window.

Eto’o is on the bench, but there is no place for Demba Ba.

Also returning to the bench is Juan Mata, as Jose Mourinho recalls Oscar, with Ramires, John Obi Mikel, Frank Lampard  and Eden Hazard all starting as well.

Defender David Luiz also returns to the Chelsea starting line-up and plays alongside John Terry.

For Tottenham, striker Roberto Soldado, as expected has been recalled to the starting team after being on the bench in the Capital One Cup in midweek.

This means that despite scoring twice in midweek, England forward Jermain Defoe has to settle for a place amongst the substitutes.

Paulinho, Mousa Dembele and Christian Eriksen start as well, with Hugo Lloris returning between the sticks.

LONDON (SPORTING ALERT) — Samuel Eto’o starts again for Chelsea in tonight’s English Premier League (EPL) clash with Fulham at Stamford Bridge.

The Cameroon striker got the nod to start ahead of Fernando Torres, who is on the bench after missing the Champions League defeat against FC Basel, while Demba Ba has been left out.

Juan Mata and David Luiz are both left of the squad completely as well, with manager Jose Mourinho making four changes to the side that was upset 2-1 at home in midweek.

John Terry, Ramires, John Obi Mikel, and Andre Schurrle all start, with Frank Lampard and Willian, who started against Basel have both been dropped to the bench.

For Fulham, meanwhile, manager Martin Jol makes three changed to the team that played to a drew 1-1 with West Brom the last time out.

Striker Darren Bent comes into the starting team for the injured Dimitar Berbatov in one of the three adjustments.

SWANSEA (Sporting Alert) — England striker Daniel Sturridge has beaten the fitness race and starts for Liverpool for tonight’s English Premier League (EPL) clash with Swansea City at The Liberty Stadium.

Sturridge has been in good form for Liverpool this season, scoring in all the three opening matches thus far, and his fitness was a massive one for the Reds, who have won all three of their games in the new campaign.

Also starting for Brendan Rodgers’ side are deadline day signings Victor Moses and Mamadou Sakho, with Daniel Agger out with an injury and Iago Aspas dropping to the bench.

Defender Kolo Toure also starts on the bench.

Meanwhile, Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has decided to hand Nathan Dyer and Leon Britton starting places into his side, while the injured Jose Canas and Pablo Hernandez misses out.

Jonjo Shelvey also starts against his former club and he admits that he’s looking forward to the game.

Seattle, Washington (Sporting Alert) — The Seattle Seahawks (1-0) and the San Francisco 49ers (1-0) have announced the list of players who will be inactive for tonight’s NFL contest at CenturyLink Field.

As expected, the Seahawks have confirmed that cornerback Brandon Browner, who did not practice during the week because of a hamstring injury, will not feature in the game as he is named amongst the seven players who will be inactive.

Browner, who also missed last week’s season opener against the Carolina Panthers will be replaced again by Walter Thurmond, who will start his second consecutive game.

Meanwhile, wide receivers Jon Baldwin and Chris Harper, quarterback B.J. Daniels and running back LaMichael James are amongst the seven inactive players named by the San Francisco 49ers.

Eto’o Starts: Watch Chelsea at Everton Live Streaming on NBC Sports

LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Experienced striker Samuel Eto’o starts up front for Chelsea in their EPL clash with Everton at Goodison Park this evening.

Eto’o, who joined the Premier League side during the late part of the summer transfer window, has gotten the nod to make his debut and start ahead of Fernando Torres, who is on the bench and Demba Ba, a man not involved at all today.

Also starting for the first time under Jose Mourinho is Juan Mata and he plays alongside Andre Schurrle and Eden Hazard as supports for Eto’o, while Ramires and John Obi Mikel also start in midfield.

David Luiz and John Terry start in the heart of the defence, while the likes of Frank Lampard, Oscar, Kevin De Bruyne and Gary Cahill are all on the bench.

Everton, still awaiting their first win the English Premier League under new manager Roberto Martinez, start deadline day recruit James McCarthy on the bench at the start of this game, but fellow new signing Gareth Barry starts in the middle of the park.

Leon Osman, Kevin Mirallas, Steven Naismith and Ross Barkley plays supporting tole, while Nikica Jelavic leads the attack.
