CHICAGO (Sporting Alert) — The Chicago Bulls say Derrick Rose will be a game time decision after complaining of a sore neck, but the star point guard claims that he will certainly play against the New York Knicks Thursday night.
Rose, who is back this season, following a long layoff because of a torn ACL in his left knee, missed the morning shootaround with the neck problem, which resulted in Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau revealing that the player will be checked on prior to the start of the game.
However, Rose has no intentions of missing the team’s home opener.
Asked if he would play against the Knicks, he said: “Hell yeah. For sure I know I”m going to play.
“But it’s just that I’ve got to get loose.”
Rose, the 2011 MVP and Bulls suffered a season opener defeat to the two-time defending champions Miami Heat on Tuesday night and they will be looking to bounce back at home.
Thursday night’s game will be broadcast on TNT, and will also streamed live online on TNT Overtime
