LAWRENCE, KS, Sporting Alert – College basketball top 25 fixtures and live TV streaming on Tuesday, December 1.
Topping the list on Tuesday night in the AP Top 25 matchup between No. 2 Maryland and No. 9 North Carolina in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge at Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill.
While the focus of the attention from the neutral will be on both teams, Tar Heels and college basketball pundits will be interested in the return of guard Marcus Paige, who will be making his season debut.
The Senior has been on the sidelines for the opening six games of the season because of a broken right hand, but head coach Roy Williams says he will play against the undefeated Terrapins.
“He’ll play,” Williams told ESPN earlier this week. “Unless something weird happens in practice.
“He practiced Friday and Saturday.”
Paige, who averaged 14.1 points and 4.5 assists per game last year, is set to link up with Justin Jackson, Kennedy Meeks and Brice Johnson who have been carrying the bulk of the weight in their leader’s absence.
The Tar Heels (5-1) have won their last two games.
Meanwhile, Melo Trimble will lead a very talented and grown Maryland side into Tuesday night’s game, as they go in search of win number seven to start the season.
The second-ranked Terrapins, despite being the higher ranked side, are a 6-point underdogs against North Carolina, according to Oddshark.
Live coverage will be at 9:30 PM ET on ESPN.
No. 4 Kansas will take on Loyola (MD) at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, live on ESPN3, looking for its fourth successive victory this season.
Cheick Diallo is eligible to play in tonight’s game after finally being cleared by the NCAA, and the Jayhawks (4-1) head coach Bill Self said the freshman forward will make his college basketball debut off the bench.
Diallo could play in excess of 15 minutes, reports ESPN.
