LONDON — English Premier League standings and results after the latest rounds of matches that took place in Week 26 on Monday, February 27.

The week’s active fixtures were capped off with champions Leicester City beating Liverpool 3-1, four days after Claudio Ranieri was sacked as the Foxes manager, to ease some of the relegation pressure.

Jamie Vardy scored a brace to help Leicester go two points clear of the danger zone, with Danny Drinkwater added another in the win.

Philippe Coutinho netted a conselation goal for Liverpool, who missed the chance to join third-place Manchester City on 52 points.

Over the weekend, leaders Chelsea hammered Swansea City 3-1 on Saturday, while second place Tottenham thrashed Stoke City 4-0 on Sunday.

Other teams picking up wins in Week 25 were Crystal Palace, who edged Middlesbrough 1-0, Everton, who beat Sunderland 2-0 and West Bromwich, who secured a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth.

Chelsea lead the English Premier League standings by 10 points, having already tallied 63 points from 26 games.

Tottenham are second with 53 points, while Manchester City, who have a game in hand, are third on 52 and Arsenal, who also have a game in hand, sit third with 50.

Next comes Liverpool in fifth with 49pts and they are followed by Manchester United (48), Everton (44), West Bromwich (40), West Ham (33) and Stoke City (32).

Burnley are 11th with 31 points, with Watford, Southampton, Bournemouth, Leicester City, Swansea City and Middlesbrough rounding out the teams sitting above the drop zone.

Fighting for survival at the moment are Crystal Palace in 18th and they are followed by Hull City and Sunderland.

  1. All of a sudden Leicester City can win games now, the whole team is a bunch of sellouts and I hope they get relegated

  2. Oh my gosh, here we go now with the backlashing. Don’t blame the players, blame the owners who clearly forgot what Claudio did for the club. It’s OK to win with the manager, but as soon as time got hard they forget how hard he worked to win the English Premier League last year.
