Donny van de Beek starts, but there is no Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial for Manchester United today against Southampton in the English Premier League.

However, Pogba has apparently not recovered fully from his ankle injury, while Martial and Scott McTominay are also absent from the Red Devils’ matchday squad.

Mason Greenwood returns to the Manchester United line-up, while Nemanja Matic comes in to partner Fred in central middle in the only two changes made to the midweek starting side.

Striker Edinson Cavani, who was given his first start for Manchester United in the Champions League on Tuesday, will have to be content with a place back on the bench.

Meanwhile, Southampton are unchanged from the team that picked up a 1-1 draw against at Wolves on Monday.

This means, Theo Walcott continues to play despite confirming he sustained a broken carpal bone against Newcastle United before the international break.

Striker Danny Ings remains out as well with Che Adams continues to lead the attack.

  1. Danny Ings is a big miss Southampton could struggle today. I will give United the edge, but I think it will be close. Fernandes could be the difference again
