LIVERPOOL, Sporting Alert – Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is planning to make a sensational move to bring Mario Gotze to Anfield, according to The Sun.
Klopp managed Gotze during his time at Borussia Dortmund and have a very close working relationship, even though the German World Cup winner decided to leave for Bayern Munich after his successful spell.
Things haven’t been going according to plan for Gotze since he was lured by Pep Guardiola to continue his career at Bayern, and Klopp is ready to offer him a life to play regular first team football again in the English Premier League.
Liverpool are hoping that under Klopp, they can become a force to reckon with in both the English Premier League and in Europe and the owners are apparently ready to back him as he tries to build another dynasty like he did at Borussia Dortmund en route to winning the Bundesliga title in 2012.
The Reds have been linked with a move for Gotze before but was deemed too good for the club during their trying times.
But with Klopp at the helm, there are signs that things will only get better, which could encourage more top players to want to go to Anfield.
Since losing Luis Suarez to Barcelona a season ago, Liverpool haven’t been the same and the departure of Steven Gerrard who left for Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS and Raheem Sterling who huffed-and-puffed away to Manchester City in the summer transfer window — haven’t helped either with former manager Brendan Rodgers failing to buy productive players with the transfer budget.
If Liverpool were to capture Gotze in January, they would pull off a remarkable deal that would certainly add more depth to the current attacking setup.
Anyways, let’s wait and see if Klopp can provide the magic again in the transfer window.
