LOS ANGELES (Sporting Alert) — The Los Angeles Galaxy will be looking to give their fans something to cheer about when they take on Series A champions Juventus in the International Champions Cup at the LA Dodgers Stadium tonight.
Both teams suffered defeats in midweek, with LA Galaxy losing 3-1 to Real Madrid and Juventus going down on penalties to Everton.
Tonight both sets of players will want to head over to Miami for the first round of games with a win to their name and Juventus will certainly start as the favourites to do so.
Blessed with several world-class options such as striker Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente, Andrea Pirlo, Andrea Barzagli, Marco Motta, Leonardo Bonucci, Gianluigi Buffon and Sebastian Giovinco, amongst others, the Old Lady will be a handful for the MLS side, and Brazilian midfielder Marcelo Sarvas expects a tough game as well.
“It’ll be my first time facing an Italian team. What I’ve seen from Italian teams is that they are very organized, tactical, and they defend very deep,” Sarvas said.
“They’re not afraid to defend in the box either.
“I think that they keep more of the defensive line, not like a Spanish team that will try to dribble and do more magic things with the ball.”
