Among the stars set for action Sunday is Jamaica’s two-time Olympic 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who will contest the women’s 60m semi-finals.
Countrywoman and defending champion Veronica Campbell-Brown and Murielle Ahoure from the Ivory Coast have also booked a semis place and will be in the hunt for a spot in the title race.
Americans Bernard Lagat and Galen Rupp will take on Ethiopians Hagos Gebrhiwet and Dejen Gebremeskel in the men’s 3000m, while Ethiopian Genzebe Dibaba, the sister of distance super Tirunesh Dibaba, is the overwhelming favorite to capture the gold medal in the women’s 3000m.
Other finals down for Sunday’s final day are the men’s and women’s 800m, both 4x400m title races, as well the men’s High Jump and women’s Long Jump.
