Manchester City Favourites To Win 16/17 Premier League Title

LONDON, Sporting Alert – It’s less than two weeks before the start of the English Premier League season and Manchester City continues to be the favourite to lift the title next May.

The Citizens will be guided by new manager Pep Guardiola and SkyBet has the blue side of Manchester at 9/4 to win the Premier League title outright this season.

Guardiola is slowly shaping his squad to deal with the expected demands of the upcoming season and the bookies are backing the Spaniard will win the league in his first season at Manchester City.

But the Sky Blues are not expected to have things their own way with, Manchester United and Chelsea, two rivals with new managers, also expected to be contenders after poor seasons last year.

Manchester United and new boss Jose Mourinho is at 3/1 to win the Premier League title, but things could shift before the transfer market closes, especially if the Red Devils capture the service of Paul Pogba.

But until that happens, I will stick to the script.

Chelsea, this season, will be led by former Juventus and Italy boss Antonio Conte and will start the season at 5/1 to win the EPL title in his first season in England.

Arsenal, with veteran boss Arsene Wenger, will start the campaign 6/1 to win the crown, although many believe the Gunners could struggle to finish in the top four this time round.

Liverpool, another club with a relatively new boss, given that Jurgen Klopp has been in charge for less than a year, and the Reds are listed at 8/1 to win the crown.

Tottenham sits at 10/1 to win the title, while defending champion Leicester City is currently at 28/1.

But let’s not forget the odds these Foxes overcame to create history and win the league last season.

Completing the current top ten teams in the bookies title race are West Ham, at 80/1, Everton at 100/1 and Southampton, at 200/1.
