NBA Announces Live TV Schedule For Opening Night, Christmas Day

NEW YORK – LeBron James and defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers will open the defense of the NBA title against the LA Clippers, while the Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets will battle in the other game, live on TNT.

The league released its national television schedule for the first three game days of the new season, which include the above opening-night doubleheader on Tuesday, Dec. 22.

The TV schedule for the young season also includes one game each on TNT and ESPN on Wednesday, Dec. 23, and is followed by five Christmas Day games across ESPN and ABC on Friday, Dec. 25.


In the season openers on Tuesday, Dec. 22, the Golden State Warriors will start with a visit to the Brooklyn Nets at 7 p.m. ET before the LA Lakers tackle the LA Clippers at 10 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Dec. 23, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks will visit the Boston Celtics at 7:30 p.m. ET, live on TNT and then the Phoenix Suns entertain the Dallas Mavericks at 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Following a day off, the NBA schedule resumes with five games on Christmas Day.

Defending Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat welcome Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN to kick-start the busy day of action.

The Golden State Warriors and Milwaukee Bucks will follow next on ABC, starting at 2:30 p.m., before the Brooklyn Nets meet the Boston Celtics at 5:00 p.m., also on ABC.


Dallas Mavericks are at the Los Angeles Lakers at 8:00 p.m. ET, on ABC/ESPN and the Christmas Day schedule will be completed with a rematch of a 2020 Western Conference Semifinals series between the LA Clippers and the Denver Nuggets, at 10:30 p.m. ET, live on ESPN.
