Oakland, California (Sporting Alert) — Steve Nash could very well feature against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night, as the Los Angeles Lakers said the guard will be a game time decision.
Nash has been out of action for almost two months now after suffering a left leg injury at the end of October, but returned to regular team practice this week.
The veteran point guard is hopeful of playing for the Lakers at Golden State tonight, but admits that he will not try to rush his return.
After taking part in back-to-back full sessions on Thursday and Friday, Nash revealed that he’s feeling much better, but the Lakers will wait until game time to make the final decision.
“We’ll see,” Nash said when asked if he would play tonight. “I’ll have to talk with everybody not only how I feel, but if fits in the big term picture.
“There’s a chance I play (Saturday), but Christmas for sure.
“If I feel good Saturday after two days of practice and what the trainers, coaches and everyone thinks about (me) playing.
“This is two days of basketball in seven weeks. It’s not a home run that I just go out in an NBA game.
“I’m going to see how it goes tomorrow and talk to everybody, but I’d say the odds are low.”
NEW YORK (Sporting Alert) — Carmelo Anthony returns to the New York Knicks starting lineup for tonight’s NBA game against the Brooklyn Nets at Madison Square Garden.
