Sunderland v Fulham Starting Teams and Live Coverage

(Sporting Alert) -- American striker Jozy Altidore has been handed his debut for Sunderland in their opening English Barclays Premier League clash against Fulham at Stadium of Light.

Altidore comes into the start of the season bang on form, following his hat-trick for the USA in a stunning comeback 4-3 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina in a friendly international game on Wednesday night and he has been backed by his manager Paolo Di Canio to shine in England in his second stint.

Captain John O'Shea leads the back line, while Sebastian Larsson, Adam Johnson and Stephane Sessegnon are all in Di Canio's starting XI as well.

For Fulham, goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg makes his debut, while Adel Taarabt and Dimitar Berbatov are set for an exciting combination in the attack.

Brede Hangeland and Kieran Richardson start as well for Martin Jol's side, with new signing Darren Bent on the bench with Bryan Ruiz and Hugo Rodallega.
