NEWCASTLE (Sporting Alert) — Liverpool will be without Iago Aspas for this weekend’s English Premier League game against Newcastle at St James’ Park, but defenders Glen Johnson and Aly Cissokho are both back in the squad after recovering from injuries.

In fact, the club confirmed that Aspas will be sidelined until December, after the Spanish forward suffered a torn thigh muscle in training on Thursday.

But Johnson and Cissokho have both come through lengthy lay-offs and are available for the clash as Liverpool looks to go atop of the EPL table standings, with fellow leaders Arsenal scheduled to kick-off after their game is over.

Strikers Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez are both expected to start again in the attack.

England forward Sturridge has so far scored six goals for the Reds.

For Newcastle, captain and leading defender Fabricio Coloccini misses out because of a groin injury, while fellow Argentinian and midfielder Jonas Gutierrez. Coloccini has been ruled out because of personal reasons.

Loic Remy has netted five times already for Newcastle United.
